Eye surgery! Before and after

The day has come! The day we have been waiting for, for two years!

Our biggest fear was that Ailyn was going to lose her sight in her bad eye. Her brain would only use the good eye. It was starting to happen, we noticed it mostly during therapies.

I never posted pictures of how bad her eyes were. She was able to look strait so I would always take 50 pics to get a few good ones. I didn't want to embarrass her later on in life. Every where we went, we would get comments. It got so annoying. Mostly kids just asking "Why are her eyes like that?" or the famous "She has crazy eyes" but we have also got some positive comments like "My child had the muscle surgery and it was so worth it" or "Wow! She's lucky she can cross her eyes like that!" Ailyn has too many other challenges to worry about people making fun of her eyes. So for once we were able to fix something for her!

Once again, Ailyn showed us what a fighter she was! She woke up and wanted a drink RIGHT AWAY. She chugged apple juice like no other! We have never seen her drink so much and so fast!

She ate a bite of cookie and fell fast asleep.......

Ailyn slept ALL day! And, went to bed at 8:00pm for the night.

She woke up today her happy self. Taking good care of her babies. Taking her eye drops like a champ. Hitting Mom and Dad in the face, and drinking her Pediasure. Her eyes look awesome! This was the best birthday gift we could ever give her!
