First Day of K!

Today our Camden went to Kindergarten for the first time. I did well.....I waited until I got into the car to cry. But, it was a good cry, a proud cry. He ran into class and was excited to meet everyone. He kissed me goodbye a few times and even remembered to kiss Ailyn. He told her she can play with his army men while he was at school.

After school I didn't get much information out of him. But, he had a good day. He said "there was one boring part, rest time"

My baby is growing up :(

Friends

I had the pleasure to photograph these adorable twin girls! I thought I would give their Daddy and Mommy a sneak peak at some of the pics ;)

Ailyn had to get some hair pulling in. I hope she learns quickly that she can't pull her friends hair!
Hope you enjoyed your preview! Your CD will be on it's way to you very soon!

Happy NICU nurse day!

At 4:00 PM I found out it was Neonatal Nurse Day!!! So I quickly changed Ailyn and ran outside for a photo shoot. A great excuse for a photo shoot :)

During Ailyn's NICU stay we were very blessed to have wonderful caring nurses. I will forever be grateful to each and every one of them. I can't thank them enough for the care they gave Ailyn. We think of them often and will tell Ailyn about all her surrogate Mommies.
Aaron and I have a game, we try to name all the nurses we had. We are pretty good :) Some stick out more than others, but we love them all.

THANK YOU TO ALL THE NICU NURSES out there! You are amazing people and should give yourself a huge pat on the back today.
A HUGE shoutout to my great friend Sarah, a NICU nurse. She was there for me the entire time through Ailyn's stay and continues to calm me down when I have questions ;) I love you! OX

An Ailyn update!

It's been awhile since I have done an Ailyn update. We have had a very busy summer and it's been impossible to find time to update. It's much easier when I am stuck at home 24/7! Ailyn has been showing huge improvements over the past few months!
Ailyn's EEG came back normal and their has been no more seizures. The neurologist also read Ailyn's MRI and just saw the normal mircopreemie issues. So for now, we just have to watch her.

A HUGE shout out to my nephew EJ! EJ is Ailyn's adjusted age. We don't live close but have been together a lot this summer. Ailyn has been watching EJ very closely and learning some gross motor and speech. We are staying with him for 3 weeks right now and everyday I am seeing Ailyn doing something new!!

Ailyn is pulling herself up to a full stand now!! She still doesn't grasp the concept of holding on or catching herself so she will fall back....hard. She also is trying to crawl on her knees. So far she can't get get all the way up but she tries.

Ailyn's biggest struggle is swallowing foods thicker than stage 2. She refuses to let me feed her from a spoon since she can do it herself. She does let me feed her Yo Baby yogurt and thank you to Erin who told me about the veggie ones! She loves them.
Even though she doesn't swallow, she eats everything we give her. She will suck and chew on anything. She just started to "chew" her food.....before that she didn't move her jaw up and down, she just sucked the food. I fed her grilled cheese tonight and I think she was able to swallow 3 small pieces, which is great for her!
She will attack you for your food, watch out!!

I have been a little (a little) more relaxed about Ailyn reaching her milestones. It's clear she knows more than she shows, she is just trying to figure it out. She has been called a "mystery" more than once. She amazes me every single day.

A Camden update? Sure! He is doing great! VERY excited to start school. We are at my parents house for 3 weeks helping my Mom post surgery. He is all ready to start when we get back.
Camden has been loving hanging out with his cousins all summer. He has a ton of them! It's going to be hard to be stuck inside all winter again :(
