An Ailyn update!

It's been awhile since I have done an Ailyn update. We have had a very busy summer and it's been impossible to find time to update. It's much easier when I am stuck at home 24/7! Ailyn has been showing huge improvements over the past few months!
Ailyn's EEG came back normal and their has been no more seizures. The neurologist also read Ailyn's MRI and just saw the normal mircopreemie issues. So for now, we just have to watch her.

A HUGE shout out to my nephew EJ! EJ is Ailyn's adjusted age. We don't live close but have been together a lot this summer. Ailyn has been watching EJ very closely and learning some gross motor and speech. We are staying with him for 3 weeks right now and everyday I am seeing Ailyn doing something new!!

Ailyn is pulling herself up to a full stand now!! She still doesn't grasp the concept of holding on or catching herself so she will fall back....hard. She also is trying to crawl on her knees. So far she can't get get all the way up but she tries.

Ailyn's biggest struggle is swallowing foods thicker than stage 2. She refuses to let me feed her from a spoon since she can do it herself. She does let me feed her Yo Baby yogurt and thank you to Erin who told me about the veggie ones! She loves them.
Even though she doesn't swallow, she eats everything we give her. She will suck and chew on anything. She just started to "chew" her food.....before that she didn't move her jaw up and down, she just sucked the food. I fed her grilled cheese tonight and I think she was able to swallow 3 small pieces, which is great for her!
She will attack you for your food, watch out!!

I have been a little (a little) more relaxed about Ailyn reaching her milestones. It's clear she knows more than she shows, she is just trying to figure it out. She has been called a "mystery" more than once. She amazes me every single day.

A Camden update? Sure! He is doing great! VERY excited to start school. We are at my parents house for 3 weeks helping my Mom post surgery. He is all ready to start when we get back.
Camden has been loving hanging out with his cousins all summer. He has a ton of them! It's going to be hard to be stuck inside all winter again :(
