A proud Mommy moment
Ailyn pulled herself up! Not much, but it's a great start!!! She really likes Camden's Lego box, (hence all the Legos in the background). I will write more later but her developmental pediatrician doesn't believe her weak arms are anything neurological. She ordered a blood test (RX??) to see if it's muscular. She also thinks it has a lot to do with her low tone. 
YAY Strawberry, you amaze us everyday!

7 Months down, 0 to go!
Ailyn had her last RSV shot today and the doctor said WE ARE FREE!!!! For the last 2 years I have been stuck in the house. Bed rest for 28 weeks and 7 months of keeping Ailyn healthy. It sure paid off. We have a healthy little Strawberry....who by the way now weighs 13 pounds 5 ounces! 
Of course this doesn't mean we can take her to the mall, crowded places and we have use common sense. When the doctor told us we were free, Camden jumped up and down and said "Yeah, we can take Ailyn to Target now"! LOL
I have a lot of medical updates to post, but I am trying to take everything in and organize my thoughts before I blog it.So YAY! I am so excited to be able to take Ailyn out to show her the world. She went to Camden's T-ball game last night and my friend brought her newborn, Ailyn was SO interested in her cry. Maybe she was having flash back of babies crying in the NICU ;)
AND, once RSV season is fully over and we get the OK, we can take Ailyn back to the NICU to visit all our day and night nurses and hopefully get to see our doctors.

Real Life Photo of the Week
We have a lot of important appointments this week. I have a lot to update and when I have time (haha) I will explain all the good....and bad. Mostly good, so no worries! So this is my Real life picture of the week. Camden is my HUGE helper at every appointment. He never complains, he likes to hold her hand when the doctors are checking her out. so check back for some updates!

Easter 2010
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! We wished we could have been with our family up North but the internet is an amazing thing....with the zillion pictures posted, we felt like we were right there.We couldn't take Ailyn to Easter Mass but they had an egg hunt after so we went to that. We love the priest Joanna. She has been so amazing to us this year. She got to hold Ailyn for the first time today! Even though we see her at least 3 times a week, she never wants to risk getting her sick. So Joanna was on cloud nine. Ailyn even snuggled into her chest :)
Happy Easter! We will see some of you very soon :)!!!!!

A few more weeks
Ailyn is drinking from her cup so well now......of course it could because she likes the sweet prune juice that is in the cup. The cup takes up her whole face!
The eye that is turned in above is her stronger eye but last night it was the weak one.... I don't get it. We will find out when her eye surgery is next week.
She LOVES pizza crust, Pizza Hut pizza crust ;) I have to pry it out of her hands when it gets soggy, and you can see above this doesn't make her happy.Today Ailyn saw the pulmonologist (sp) She was thrilled Ailyn has been healthy all winter. Of course she didn't like Ailyn's size, but was happy with the improvement in the past month. She agrees that we don't need to rush into a feeding tube. She is back on the growth chart so that should make her doctors very happy....I already called and left messages ;)
I brought up Ailyn's weak arms. Since it stumps every doctor and therapist, I try them all! She referred us to a neurologist. She did say it was good her MRI came back "normal". For now we have an appointment in July but I am sure between all her doctors, we can get this date moved up. I want to catch anything early and try to fix it before it affects other milestones.
And, I saved the best for last..... We can be off house arrest in a few short weeks!!!!! The doctor said RSV is slowing down, last week they didn't see any cases. WOO HOO!

Sunday Sunday
Ok, Ok, I have been a slacker on my weekly "Real Life" picture. Above is my "office" where I make a huge mess planning out Camden's school work for the month. Planning a month of work takes days. I am constantly interrupted with life :) But, I am very excited about our upcoming projects and lessons.
T-Ball starts soon. Aaron has been waiting for this day since we found out Camden was a boy. He took Camden to Dick's to stock up on baseball gear. They practice every night. I am SO glad Camden is into baseball because I do not have an athletic bone in my body!
Ailyn is getting better at sitting....kinda. Right after this picture she did a face plant. We have a week off from therapy this week. I am actually going to miss our therapists! I look forward to our therapy days.
Camden and I planted our tomatoes, green beans and peppers a few weeks ago. Raegan has found them and will take small nibbles....I am hoping we have some to plant outside.
As you know Ailyn is TERRIBLE at keeping her patch on. I dread the two hours we have to fight with her to keep it on. She is so quick at getting it off. One benefit to her being so tiny is that she still fits in newborn mittens.......
she did not like this idea AT ALL!

MRI Results
I called my pediatrician first thing this morning to see how long we have to wait for the MRI results. Not long! I got a call this afternoon. Everything looks great! Of course there are some normal micropreemie "issues", but they expected that. The eye doctor told my pediatrician to tell me that he was impressed with the results and the fact that Ailyn's Strabismus (crossed eyes) got worse is not anything neurological. So Ailyn will be able to have eye surgery to fix her eyes. 
We are thrilled with the results and can breathe a little easier tonight. Thanks for all the prayers and support!

MRI
Part one is over! Part two...the results, will take a few days. It went really well. Aaron and I got to be with her when the doctor put her to sleep. I didn't plan that! The doctor asked me to sit her on the bed and he layed her back on his lap and put the mask over her face!! She tried to be tough and fight....the gas won ;) I am glad now that I was there for her, we were the last faces she saw and the first when she woke. Daddy, AKA paparazzi took many pictures of Ailyn waking. I had to share this one below.Thank you, thank you, thank you once again for all your prayers and support. Our friend Johanna, a priest sent out a prayer request to many and she came over the house after to check on Ailyn after the MRI. We are so lucky to have all of you :)
Off to bed!! We are very tired!

pre-op
DRUMROLL PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ailyn is 13 pounds!!!!!! WOOO HOOO! I think we might be able get away with no feeding tube. She has her good and bad feeding days, but overall she is doing great. She is able to drink faster so she doesn't burn as many calories. She is no too fond of many solids. Sweet potatoes seem to be the fav.....She also had therapy today and Sarah said she saw a huge improvement since last week! Go Ailyn, Go Ailyn! She sat for a long time and tried to catch herself with one hand. She didn't put pressure but put her hand on the ground. Hopefully this means things are clicking for her.
So proud of our Strawberry today!
