TWO WORDS about the walk this year.... COLD and RAIN
You know your friends are true friends when they get out of bed (one with a bad headache) and brave a cold rainy 2 mile walk. I would be lying if I didn't think of calling it all off. But, my sister said it best. "Maybe the weather is like this so we have to go through a little pain like Ailyn and all the other premature babies went through in the NICU"
So with that frame of mind, I bundled us all up and put on a smile. And, so did everyone else. Carter, 6, did not complain once.
My kids however.... who turn blue when they are cold..... let us know every second that they were miserable. Auntie Becky saved the day when she took a screaming Ailyn from me and told her all about the hot bath she will get when they get home. (Thank you, Becky!)
I'm glad we manged to get one picture with Callie and Ailyn. Callie was Ailyn's NICU roommate.
This year they asked to send in a short story about your miracle. They were supposed to be set up all along the walk but instead had to be under a tent. It was fun to see two of our NICU roommates stories up.
Evan, 2 was a champ!!!! He didn't seem to care about the cold rain. He did get a ride in the stroller and did manage to fall asleep.
Overall we did AWESOME this year!!!!! We raised $1,050!!!! THANK YOU to everyone who donated!!!!
3 times is a charm right??? So next year will be 75 and sunny???
